School Climate and Social and Emotional Learning

School climate and social and emotional learning is an article based on school climate. "School climate" is cleaning up school violence and making the school community secure and safe for everyone to learn better in a better enviroment. The article points out 4 main ways of providing a better enviroment for students to learn in. Safety, Teaching an Learning, Interpersonal Relationship, and Institutional Enviromental. The National school climate council, education commissiom of the states, and the center for emotional and social education say's that social climate lays under many dimensions as I mention earlier: social climate is all about"the quality and character of school life", and "school climate is based on patterns of students, parents, and school personel"

Within the four main ways 0f making a school's climate better is the details of the actual doing what it takes as our solutions. They arent impossible but wont get done easily in society today. The first level of making school climates better is respect. There are rules we all have to abide by and we have to control our actions. Not being to far out of norms makes thing run more smoothly too. Support systems is a way of bettering school environment between students, teachers, and parents. As far as learning goes with or without the school climate distraction teachers and parents have to be the rock for kids. All students are different but the main issue is studnets upon their ownsleves. Engaging with others, connecting, communication and activities related more with interacting.

According to Grottfredson (2005) "school climate explained a substantial percentage of variance in all measures of school disorder............ school in which perceived greater fairness and clarity of rules had less delinquent behavior and less student victimization". My only thought about this particular quote is different societies. In a more residential area the kids in that neighborhood will go to a school surrounded with students of their nature. Parents that support or force them to do the right thing great teachers as the CSEE and etc suggest. Flip the tables and take kids in a different neighborhood more like a one parent house, 9-5 working parent and go to your everyday average public school. The support system is different and kids are less friendly. I believe culture and diversity play a role in Gorttfedson studies. Hope I didnt go to far of topic and hit points that wasnt really main factors but this article wasnt long enough and didnt adress that topic.
